Christian Adamer GmbH processes fire-resistant glass, safety glass, curved glass and profiled glass, among other products. Special racks are required for safe transportation and circulate between the company’s premises, customers and other locations. They were previously managed using Excel spreadsheets, making current locations, inventory levels and responsibilities difficult to track without significant manual effort. Existing transport racks retrofitted for digital tracking

Adamer Glas retrofitted more than 400 racks with cost-effective IoT trackers. The devices enable Europe-wide location tracking via cellular networks and can be installed quickly on the existing fleet.

All location data is consolidated in the cloud-based BOX ID platform. Adamer Glas can manage its rack fleet from anywhere and compare booking data with the recorded geographic positions. This provides logistics and production with a shared database for locating racks faster, coordinating returns and assessing the status of the fleet.

15% faster returns increase availability

Digital transparency has significantly accelerated rack circulation. Racks now return around 15% faster, making them available sooner for production and delivery. This helps prevent bottlenecks while reducing the need for additional racks.

The reduced need for new racks results in annual savings of around €30,000. Digital tracking also reduces administrative effort and deters theft and unauthorized use. Employees spend less time searching, coordinating and maintaining data manually, allowing them to focus more closely on their core tasks.
